Several cases of canned energy drinks, valued at about $14,000, were stolen out of a van parked next to Chadia Fay Inc., 3501 Fort St. The person who reported the crime, an 18-year-old Dearborn Heights resident, said the van was known to be loaded with the energy drinks at about 6 p.m. Saturday. The theft and damage to the van was discovered at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The rear doors of the van had been forced open. Pieces of the rear door assembly and a four-way tire iron were found near the rear of the van. The stolen energy drinks included the Amp, Red Bull, Monster and Full Throttle brands.
Tools and yard equipment were stolen out of a garage in the 700 block of Antoine. The resident said he last noticed the items inside the garage on Thursday. On Sunday morning the gate was open and later that afternoon he noticed the padlock from the garage?s front door was missing. Upon entering the garage, the resident saw that several items had been stolen including a lawn mower, a leaf blower, a miter saw, a belt sander and a power drill. He was advised to put together a complete list of the missing items and turn it over to the detective bureau. The incident was reported Sunday afternoon.
